Former Hull City loanee Ola Aina is being tipped for a role in Chelsea’s first-team next season.

The 22-year-old, along with Aston Villa loanee Tammy Abraham, are under consideration by Maurizio Sarri, according to the Evening Standard.

Chelsea have a FIFA ban on buying players meaning they have to stick with what they’ve got this summer. They have 41 players out on loan to choose from.

Aina, who is a Nigeria international with seven caps to his name so far in his career, spent the 2017/18 season on loan in the Championship with Hull City.

It was Leonid Slutsky who brought the youngster to the KCOM Stadium in the summer of 2017. Aina had previously made six appearances for Chelsea’s first-team and enjoyed his first taste of regular football. He played 46 games in all competitions for the Tigers, scoring one goal.

Slutsky used his positive relationship with Chelsea’s owner Roman Abramovich to sign players like Aina, Michael Hector and Fikayo Tomori on loan to Hull that summer.

Aina has spent this campaign on loan in Italy with Serie A side Torino and has impressed for them, hence why Sarri is considering him as a potential player for Chelsea next season.

Hull have had right-back Todd Kane on loan from the Blues this season but it appears that the 25-year-old’s future lies away from the KCOM Stadium. He played 43 games in all competitions under Nigel Adkins, chipping in with three goals. His contract at Stamford Bridge expires next month.
