Hull City striker’s move to Ipswich Town could be scuppered by injury record

Ipswich Town remain keen on signing Hull City striker Will Keane on a permanent basis this summer.

However, the Tractor Boys are weighing up a move for him based on his previous injury record, according to the East Anglian Daily Times.

The 26-year-old’s career has never quite taken off due to injury problems but he has found his feet at Ipswich. He joined the Tractor Boys on loan in the January transfer window and scored three times in 12 appearances.

Keane, who is a former England Under-21 international, is believed to be keen on moving to Paul Lambert’s side on a permanent basis. His contract at Hull expires next month meaning he will be a free agent. The Tigers are unlikely to extend his stay at the KCOM Stadium.

The Stockport-born striker started his career at Manchester United and rose through the youth ranks at Old Trafford. He went onto make three appearances for the Red Devils and had loan spells at Wigan Athletic, QPR, Sheffield Wednesday and Preston North End.

Keane signed for Hull in 2016 on a three-year deal. He played 26 times for the Yorkshire side, scoring once.

A move to Ipswich this summer would be ideal for Keane and he deserves a chance to impress for them in League One after his performances for them this season. This is a story to keep an eye on over the next few weeks.
