Derby County and Wigan Athletic are both eyeing up a move for Lincoln City midfielder Ellis Chapman.

The 18-year-old could be a man in-demand this summer, as per a report by Lincolnshire Live.

Premier League side Southampton are also believed to be keeping tabs on his progress and see him as one for the future.

Chapman has already made 14 appearances for the Imps so far in his career. He made a handful of appearances during for the first half of this season for Danny Cowley’s side who were promoted to League One.

He joined National League side Chesterfield on loan until the end of the campaign in the January transfer window and enjoyed playing some regular first-team football. He will return to Sincil Bank this summer where his contract expires in 2020.

Chapman was born in Lincoln and rose through the youth ranks of his local side before Leicester City snapped him up in 2016. However, he returned to the Imps a year later.

Derby County are reportedly interested in signing him. The Rams will be in the hunt for some promising young talent to bolster their youth ranks and Chapman could fit the bill for them. They will face competition from their fellow Championship side Wigan Athletic for his signature.

Southampton is another potential destination for Chapman. They have a great reputation of developing young talent and could be the perfect place to progress his career. It will be interesting to see where he could end up over the coming months.
