QPR, Millwall and Reading considering bargain swoop for League One winger

Scunthorpe United winger Josh Morris’ contract is set to expire at the end of month, and Championship trio Queens Park Rangers, Millwall and Reading have all been credited with interest.

Championship sides Queens Park Rangers, Millwall and Reading are among a host of sides reportedly eyeing up a move for Scunthorpe United’s out of contract winger Josh Morris, HITC Sport has reported.

Scunthorpe United are obviously keen to keep hold of their star winger and have contract offers to the 27-year-old to try and tie him down to a new deal at Glanford Park. However, he has rejected their advances thus far, as he looks to weigh up his options ahead of the 2019/20 season.

A number of League One sides have also been linked with a free transfer approach for Morris, but as it stands, he will become a free agent with a deal yet to be agreed with any clubs.

Scunthorpe will be hoping that the confirmed arrival of new manager Paul Hurst could persuade Morris into remaining with the club beyond this summer. However, having dropped down to the Fourth tier of English football, the Iron look set for a struggle in their efforts to keep Morris.

Morris was a bright spark in a dull Scunthorpe side last season, scoring five goals and providing six assists in 19 league appearances over the course of the season. Overall, he has played 125 times for the club, scoring 37 goals and picking up 30 assists since joining from Bradford City in the summer of 2016.
