Top 50 Players of the EFL – 33rd: Patrick Bamford (Leeds United)

Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford has been voted by you as the 33rd best player in the EFL.

Over the last month, we have been gathering votes from you to find the best managers and players in the EFL. And after counting the votes, we have discovered you think that Bamford is the 33rd best player in the Football League. This is the first time that he has been on the Top 50 Players countdown.

The 25-year-old striker has been seen as one of the forwards in England that has a lot of potential to be something great. This comes mostly from loan spells at teams such as MK Dons, Derby County and Middlesbrough where he was feared up front with teams struggling to keep hold of him. He would then have loan moves to the Premier League, he is contracted to Chelsea, but his reputation took a big knock as he struggled in the top tier and didn’t score in any of his moves to teams up there.

Therefore, his move to Leeds was a big one as if he failed to perform, he might finally be dismissed as a few season wonder and keep dropping down the divisions until he found a new level for himself. But while he took his time to get in the Leeds first team, great form from Kemar Roofe made sure Bamford wasn’t a regular, he definitely showed what he was capable of in the time he did have. In his 24 appearances for the club, he scored 10 goals, a solid tally for the minutes he was able to play.
