Aston Villa want £25 million striker deal if they win Championship play-offs

According to a report from The Telegraph, Aston Villa will look to bring loan star Tammy Abraham back to the club permanently this summer – if they secure promotion to the Premier League.

If Aston Villa are victorious in their bid to be the third side promoted to the Premier League this season, they will reportedly look to make a move for 26-goal hero Tammy Abraham, who is currently on loan from Europa League finalists Chelsea.

Aston Villa are in the driving seat heading into their play-off semi-final second leg against West Brom after they defeated the Baggies 2-1 at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon. Their advantage in the tie comes courtesy of Abraham, who netted the decisive penalty with 79 minutes gone at Villa Park.

The England youngster has been a star performer for Villa over the course of the 2018/19 Championship season, further proving his worth with another hefty goal haul in the second tier. His 26 goals this season have played a massive role in helping Dean Smith guide Villa to the play-offs.

The striker is attracting significant interest in the run-up to the summer transfer window. German big spenders RB Leipzig have been linked with a move for Abraham, as have Premier League side Newcastle United.

However, the current saga regarding Chelsea’s transfer ban could put a spanner in the works for any interested clubs. The Blues are allowed to sell players, but after UEFA rejected their appeal to have their transfer ban revoked, they are unable to buy players for two years.

The ban could mean that Abraham gets his chance to prove himself and fight for a place in the first-team at Stamford Bridge, something that he has said that he is keen to do.
