Stoke City’s Jack Butland is set to choose between moving to Bournemouth or Crystal Palace according to a report from Stoke-On-Trent Live.

The 26-year-old goalkeeper, who was voted by the fans as the 43rd Best Player in the EFL in our annual countdown, surprised many by deciding to stick with Stoke for this season after they were relegated from the Premier League last year. But with the Potters having a poor season and failing to challenge for promotion, it does appear that his time in Staffordshire is over and that he will be heading back to the top tier this summer so he can once again compete for a place in the England squad.

And Butland is going to have two teams to choose from. Both Bournemouth and Crystal Palace have a lot of interest in the goalkeeper and will be making bids to sign him when they can. The Cherries have had a goalkeeping crisis this year with their new signing Asmir Begovic, who is very familiar to Stoke fans, struggling to keep the veteran Artur Boruc out of the first team. Palace also saw their number one Wayne Hennessy be dropped in favour of Vincente Guaita and want a true number one going into next season.

This is a bit of a disappointment as he wanted a move to a top six team. He had his eye on Manchester United, especially if they were forced to sell David de Gea this summer. But a move to either of these two sides should give him a chance to resurrect his England career.
