Top 20 Managers of the EFL – 20th: Graham Potter (Swansea City)

Swansea City head coach Graham Potter has been voted by you as the 20th Best Manager in the EFL.

Over the last month, we have been gathering votes from you to find the best managers and players in the EFL. And after counting the votes, we have found that you think Potter is the 20th best manager in the Football League. Potter is a new addition to this list.

After being relegated from the Premier League last season, Swansea needed a new manager and decided to go a route not many expected. They decided to appoint Potter as their head coach even though his only managerial experience had been with Swedish side Ostersund. He had done very well in his eight years with them, guiding them from third tier of Swedish football to the top and even masterminding a victory over Arsenal in the Europa League.

At Swansea, he was tasked with returning them to the Premier League. While he was not able to do that, he has been able to get the squad in a good position despite lots of news about the perilous state of the club’s finances. He has been able to bring youngsters such as Oliver McBurnie and Daniel James into the first team which has given fans a lot to be proud of and the management side of the club looks more stable than it has for years due to a series of changes in the top job. Potter will now hope to get them promoted next season.
