MK Dons head coach Paul Tisdale has told the Mansfield and Ashfield Chad that he believes Mansfield Town will win the Sky Bet League Two play-offs.

In something that seemed to be written like the ending of a Hollywood movie, the two teams vying for automatic promotion MK Dons and Mansfield Town faced each other on the final game of the season. The Stags had the advantage going into this game though as they only needed a draw for promotion while MK Dons would have to win to avoid the play-offs.

In the end, it only took two minutes for the match to be decided. David Wheeler got the only goal of the game very early on for MK Dons and despite their best efforts, Mansfield were unable to get that vital equaliser. This means that MK Dons have been promoted automatically while Mansfield will have to try their luck in the play-offs.

“It was a bit of a gift today, and we took it. Mansfield have had a very consistent and effective season.”
