Alex Neil confident that Preston North End can keep their top players

Preston North End head coach Alex Neil has told the Lancashire Evening Post that he believes that they can keep their top players this summer.

The Lilywhites are set to end their season on Sunday with a match against Brentford and while this may be seen as a pretty boring season as they didn’t challenge for promotion or battle against the drop, they can be pleased with what they have done. Preston looked solid throughout the year and impressed at times as they continue to build and improve their squad.

However, with the summer transfer window coming up, the fear is that Preston may end up losing some of their best players such as Callum Robinson who has been linked with a move away before. They know Neil will be staying as he signed a new contract with the Lancashire club after he was linked with the West Bromwich Albion job and now he has said that he believes they can keep their top players alongside with him.

He said: “This squad will be here, I have not get any concerns about any of that.”

“I think it is more adding to it rather than being scared of it being dismantled, I have no fears of that at all.”

“We are not in a position where we need to sell, I’ve been reassured that we don’t need to sell, we can basically build on the squad we have got rather than let’s say pick it apart.”

“I have no concerns about that.”
