Sheffield Wednesday’s Achraf Lazaar has told TuttoMercatoWeb, with comments being reported by The Star, that he has been in talks to make his loan deal permanent.

Lazaar signed for the Owls on loan from Newcastle United in the January transfer window and his arrival has coincided with a massive upturn in form for the South Yorkshire club. While he has struggled with some injuries while at Hillsborough which has meant he has been unable to play as much as the club would have wanted, he has impressed when he’s been out on the pitch.

This has led to many fans hoping that Wednesday will be able to sign Lazaar on a permanent deal come the summer, even though Financial Fair Play restrictions may stop that from happening. And now in an interview, Lazaar has confirmed that he’s had talks about a potential permanent deal with the Owls and could move in the summer as he’s enjoyed his stint with Wednesday a lot.

He said: “I was expecting a good experience, but not as much as I’m experiencing it.”
