Barnsley have had five players named in the PFA’s League One Team Of The Year, alongside pairs from Luton Town and Portsmouth.

Barnsley quintet Adam Davies, Dimitri Cavare, Ethan Pinnock, Alex Mowatt and Kieffer Moore have all been named in the PFA’s League One Team Of The Year for the 2018/18 campaign.

Portsmouth pair Matt Clarke and Jamal Lowe also feature in the team, as do Luton Town duo James Justin, Sunderland playmaker Aiden McGeady and Doncaster Rovers striker John Marquis.

Adam Davies has had another strong season at Oakwell, conceding just 33 League One goals and keeping 19 clean sheets over the course of the season. Tykes defensive duo Dimitri Cavare and Ethan Pinnock have also starred for Daniel Stendel’s side, with Cavare providing two goals and five assists in 40 games and Pinnock playing in every minute of every League One game in a strong season for the club.

Portsmouth’s Matt Clarke is the second centre-back in the side, thanks to his strong form helping Pompey into the automatic promotion fight and to the EFL Trophy final, where they defeated Sunderland late on.

Luton youngster James Justin has earned his place in the side, having starred in the backline for both Nathan Jones and Mick Harford. The 19-year-old has provided eight assists from full-back as Luton look set to win promotion to the Championship.

Portsmouth’s second player in the side is Jamal Lowe, who has been a constant threat to defenders across the league all season. The wide man’s tricky play style has helped him to 16 goals and nine assists so far, with games still left to spare.

Alex Mowatt has been a crucial figure in the middle of the park for Barnsley, and his impressive season sees him win a place in the team of the year. The 24-year-old has provided eight goals and eight assists, dictating play from the middle of the park.

Sunderland star Aiden McGeady takes up the last of three midfield places after a number of inspiring performances for Jack Ross’ side. His 14 goals and six assists has helped Sunderland challenge for automatic promotion in their first season after relegation from the Championship.

The team’s front three consists of Luton’s James Collins, Doncaster forward John Marquis and Barnsley man Keiffer Moore. Player of the year Collins has bagged an impressive 23 in 41 this season, massively helping his side in the promotion charge. Marquis has provided 29 goals (23 goals and six assists) in all competitions, while Moore has notched up 18 goals and four assists in all competitions.
