AFC Bournemouth are plotting a summer move for Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland.

The England international stopper is keen on a move away from the Championship side at the end of the season and has emerged as a target for the Cherries, as per a report by StokeOnTrent Live.

Bournemouth are in the hunt for a new ‘keeper with Asmir Begovic and Arthur Boruc ageing. Their Premier League rivals Crystal Palace are also being linked with Butland.

Butland, who is 25-years-old, has eight caps for England and was at the World Cup in Russia last summer. He has played for Stoke since 2013 and has played over 100 times for them.

Many were surprised that he stayed at the Bet365 Stadium this season after Stoke’s relegation from the Premier League in the last campaign. It has been a tough season for the Potters in the Championship and it doesn’t appear likely that Butland will be sticking around for another.

Bournemouth have established themselves as a top flight club over the past few years under Eddie Howe and have proved to be a great place for English talent to play their football.

Crystal Palace, on the other hand, is another interesting proposition for Butland. Thier currently goalkeeping options are Wales international Wayne Hennessey, veteran Julian Speroni and Vicente Guita, the latter of whom is expected to return back to La Liga this summer meaning they will need a new ‘keeper.
