Leeds United looking at double Liverpool swoop

According to Football Insider, and quoting a “Leeds source”, Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United are looking to bring in Liverpool starlets Ryan Kent and Harry Wilson.

Both the Reds youngsters have impressed whilst out on loan: Wilson at Derby County and Kent at SPL side Rangers. Football Insider say that Leeds “are keeping close tabs on the situations of the Liverpool pair”, saying that the Whites want to add flair to their side.

After an eventful 2018/19 Sky Bet Championship campaign, Bielsa’s Leeds side sit poised in 2nd place, three points ahead of nearest rivals Sheffield United in the hunt for the second automatic place. A win against Wigan today, and against Brentford on Monday, would take them to the brink of an ascent to the Premier League after a lengthy absence.

Left-winger Kent has seen a hook-up with former Reds great Steven Gerrard pay dividends at Rangers. The Oldham-born youngster has scored six goals and laid on six assists in the 23 SPL appearances that he’s made for the Gers.

Wilson operates on the opposite side of the field to fellow Anfield youngster Kent and has more than impressed for Derby County in this season’s Sky Bet Championship. In all, the 23-year-old has scored 12 Championship goals, as well as providing two assists.

Should Football Insider’s inside information be bang on the button, Leeds will have to dig deep as both players are still under considerable contracts on Merseyside. Wilson’s deal runs until the summer of 2023 and Kent’s deal until the summer of 2022.

However, backed by Premier League lucre, should Leeds be determined to land the Liverpool duo, price shouldn’t really be too much of an issue.
