Craig Bryson urges Derby County to find consistency

Derby County’s Craig Bryson has told the club website that they need to find some consistency going into the end of the season.

The Rams are fighting for a spot in the Sky Bet Championship play-offs but if the season ended now they would miss out as they are in 8th place though they are just two points off 6th place Bristol City. This means that their upcoming match with Birmingham City, which will take place on Good Friday, is very important if they want to be promoted.

And Bryson, who scored in their 4-0 win over Bolton Wanderers last weekend, has said that this Derby team need to find some consistency in order to get into the top six. He believes that many teams chasing a place in the play-offs have struggled to find consistency and that if Derby can in the last few games of the season, they will have a very good chance of getting that play-off spot.

He said: The teams around about us have been a bit inconsistent just like ourselves, so with five games to go, to still be right in the mix for the play-offs is probably what we would have taken at the start of the season,”

“We had a new manager come in, a big change around in players, the club spoke about it being a transitional season, yet we are still up there near the play-offs.”

“We know how the Championship works. Even though Norwich are probably going to get promoted at the end of the season, they go away to Wigan at the weekend and have to fight hard just to get a point, so we know how tough this league is.”

“We know nothing is taken for granted and we need to be at it. You saw it at the Blackburn game, when we weren’t at it we got beat convincingly on the night and we had to bounce back against Bolton, which we did.

“We don’t want to have to keep bouncing back, we have had to do it too many times this season, so we want to build on the Bolton result going in to Birmingham.”
