The Hull boss has said that youth should be given a chance and that the future is bright at the KCOM Stadium.

He has said, as per the Tigers’ official club website: “We’ve got massive belief in the Academy structure we have here. We’ve made no secret of the fact that we want to make sure there is a pathway for the youngsters to come through and play, so there’s a togetherness all the way through.”

“We’ve got a good environment for the youngsters to come into to improve, to learn, to work hard and to develop. The object is to get them through and aid their development and progress. I want there to be a pathway from the Academy. That’s the vision that we’ve got and it’s one we’ve got to keep driving on.”

Adkins added: “If you’ve got an Academy, there’s got to be a pathway. If we lose games, I lose my job but I’ve been bold enough with every club I’ve been at to use the younger players.”

It will be interesting to see which youngsters break into Hull’s first-team set-up next season.
