Preston North End, Alex Neil excited for the future after signing new Preston North End contract

Alex Neil excited for the future after signing new Preston North End contract

Preston North End fans are delighted that their manager Alex Neil has signed a new contract with the club.

The former Hamilton Academical and Norwich City boss was linked with the West Bromwich Albion job but has now committed his future to the Deepdale side.

Neil has said he would have been a “hypocrite” if he had left the Lilywhites and remains fully focused on the Lancashire outfit.

He has said, as per a report by Lancashire Live: I do a lot of talking to the players in terms of convincing them that this is the best place for them. That I am going to make them better, that I am going to get us or them into the Premier League at some stage.”

“I think if I then upped and left at the first sign of interest from elsewhere then I would be a complete hypocrite. They understand my thoughts about them and they know how much I believe in them and what I think they can achieve here.”

Neil added: “I am very hopeful that we are not going to lose any of our players and we are hoping to maybe start work on training grounds and different things like that and we are hoping to attract more and better players to here to help us on our journey. When you take all that into account what is there not to be excited about”

Although it looks like they will miss out on the Play-Offs this season, the future at Preston looks bright with Neil at the wheel.
