Bowen, Leicester City eyeing up Hull City striker as Jamie Vardy’s ideal strike partner

Leicester City eyeing up Hull City striker as Jamie Vardy’s ideal strike partner

Leicester City are considering a move for Hull City’s Jarrod Bowen according to a report on Page 59 of today’s print edition of The Sun.

Since becoming the new head coach of Leicester, Brendan Rodgers has been looking to who he will be signing in the summer. It appears that he will not be straying too far from Leicester’s current transfer strategy and that they will be focusing on signing young players who can be mainstays in their first team for years to come. And that could continue with Leicester having an interest in signing Bowen from Hull.

Rodgers has been watching Bowen since he became the Foxes head coach and he is plotting a move for him this summer as he believes that he would be an ideal striker partner for an aging Jamie Vardy. Bowen has been one of the Sky Bet Championship’s top players over the last two years. He scored 15 goals in the 2017/18 season, widely seen as his breakout year, and he has improved on that this year by netting an impressive 20 times.

But this has meant Bowen has been attracting plenty of interest, especially with Hull not being promoted again this year. Reports have suggested that along with Leicester, Tottenham and Everton are also interested in Bowen and could make a move in the summer. But with Rodgers having this long term interest, it does appear that they might be the first team to make a bid for Bowen and test Hull’s resolve to keep him.
