West Brom’s 21-goal loanee issues come and get me plea

West Brom’s loaned in star Dwight Gayle has said that he can see himself as a Baggies player again next season after a thoroughly successful loan spell at The Hawthorns.

West Brom striker Dwight Gayle has said that he would be more than happy to join the club in the summer transfer window once his loan spell from parent club Newcastle United comes to an end.

Gayle has been in impressive form for the Baggies over the course of the Championship season, earning his way into the hearts of West Brom supporters. He has netted 21 goals in 35 league games, collecting seven assists along the way as well.

Speaking after the club’s 4-1 win over Preston North End – in which Gayle bagged an impressive hat trick, he told Birmingham Live that he could see himself in a West Brom shirt once again next season.

“Yes, of course. I’ve really enjoyed the season and the fans have taken to me and shown great support.

“In the summer, I’m going to see what happens and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time here.”

It is unknown whether Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez will look to keep a hold of Gayle or sell him on in the upcoming transfer window. But, it is a known fact that he is keen to bring in Salomon Rondon – who is on loan from West Brom.

The Magpies could look to sell on Gayle to raise funds for a move for Rondon or use him as part of a swap deal, which they did in the summer transfer window to take the Venezuelan to St James’ Park.
