Swansea City’s Daniel James hints at imminent transfer decision

Swansea City star Daniel James has hinted that a decision regarding his future with the club is imminent, stating that “something will come out soon”.

Swansea City winger Daniel James has hinted that the plan for his immediate future is set to be revealed imminently, as links with a move to Leeds United persist.

Speculation regarding James’ future with Swansea has been rife since the January transfer window when a move to Leeds fell through late on transfer deadline day. Links have continued to emerge despite James saying that he wants to remain in South Wales, with Leeds reportedly keen on reviving their interest.

Champions League quarter-finalists Manchester City have also been credited with interest in James as well.

Speaking yesterday, James has hinted that a decision regarding his immediate future could be made imminently.

“It’s between my agent and the club and that’s something that will come out soon,” James said (quote via Birmingham Live).

Swansea boss Graham Potter spoke in February, saying that the club had held talks with James over a new deal. Almost two months have passed since Potter said negotiations had taken place, but given James’ words upon the breakdown of his move to Leeds, it could be said that a new deal with the Swans may be close to completion.

Clubs have been circling around James over the course of the season, as he continues to catch the eye with impressive performances. This season, the 21-year-old has made 34 appearances in all competitions, bagging five goals and providing eight assists.
