Liverpool linked with move for Bristol City defender

Liverpool are being linked with a summer move for Bristol City defender Lloyd Kelly.

The 20-year-old has impressed for the Robins this season and has caught the attention of the Premier League giants, as per a report by TEAMtalk.

Liverpool are in the hunt for a replacement for the departing Alberto Moreno and some back-up/competition for their current first-choice left-back Andy Robertson.

Kelly fits the bill for the Reds. Like when they signed Robertson from Hull City, he’s similarly promising and has already got plenty of first-team experience under his belt.

He joined Bristol City in 2011 and rose through the youth ranks at Ashton Gate. He was key player for their youth sides before he was handed his senior debut in a League Cup against Plymouth Argyle in August 2017.

Kelly played 14 games in all competitions for Lee Johnson’s side last season and has made the left-back spot his own in this campaign following Joe Bryan’s departure to Premier League side Fulham last summer, playing 32 games in all competitions.

Kelly is certainly one for the future and one who Bristol City will want to keep hold of for as long as possible. The fact Liverpool are being linked with him is credit to the work he has been doing for them this season.

The Robins are currently 6th in the Championship and four points into the Play-Offs with six games to play. They face a tricky task against fellow promotion hopefuls Aston Villa at Villa Park tomorrow.
