Tony Pulis confirms two players will definitely start in Middlesbrough’s game against Hull

Middlesbrough host Hull City at the Riverside Stadium on Saturday afternoon, and manager Tony Pulis has confirmed some early team news.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the game at the weekend, Middlesbrough manager Tony Pulis stated two players would definitely be starting.

One of those is midfielder Mo Besic. The Bosnian impressed in his most recent outing, and was one of the standout performers in Boro’s 2-0 win over Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday.

Besic missed out on the trip to Swansea last week, and watched on from the substitutes bench. Pulis confirmed he would be better suited to the games against Bolton and Hull.

“He was champing at the bit to play on Saturday (at Swansea), again I thought these two games (Bolton and Hull) would be his games rather than Saturday.”

With Besic set to start, the Everton-loanee will be happy to know striker Ashley Fletcher will also be featuring from the off against the Tigers. The pair linked up well against Bolton, with Besic setting up the forward’s second goal of the evening.

After the game at the Macron Stadium in midweek, the Boro boss was full of praise for Fletcher, stating he would start against Hull.

“Today and Saturday are Fletch’s games. He’s got two goals tonight, hopefully he can carry it on for the Hull game.”

Nigel Adkins’ Hull side are now just one point behind Middlesbrough, and a win could take them closer to the Play Offs with four games remaining.
