Derby County are in talks with Aberdeen captain Graeme Shinnie.
The Rams are hoping to snap up the 27-year-old on a pre-contract agreement, according to a report by BBC Sport.
He has four caps for Scotland to his name and made his debut for his country last May in a game against Peru. His brother, Andrew, plays for League One side Luton Town.
Shinnie, who can also play as a left-back if needed, has played over 350 games so far in his career and they have all come in Scotland.
He started out at Inverness Caledonian Thistle as a youngster and had a brief loan stint at Forres Mechanics in 2010 in the Scottish Highland League. On his return to Inverness, Shinnie went onto establish himself in their first-team and played 187 games for them in total.
Shinnie captained Inverness to their Scottish Cup triumph in 2015, prior to his switch to Aberdeen. He has since been a key player for the Dons but now looks set for a new chapter in England.
Derby are leading the race to sign him. He was spotted at Pride Park yesterday-

Here is how their fans have reacted on Twitter to this new potential summer signing-
Most of the people moaning about Graeme Shinnie are ones that have never seen him play. Just because he comes from the Scottish League. We know we don’t have much money do signings like these could be integral #DCFCFans #dcfc

Is Shinnie gonna be one of those players that nobody rates but you don't half miss when he's not playing and his team mates love him. If so great addition cos he'll give everything 👍🐏 #dcfc #dcfcfans

Hopefully we follow in the footsteps of Villa by finding a gem in the Scottish leagues. Don’t know much about this Shinnie bloke but hopefully he makes a difference, we need a midfield engine, it’s our biggest problem #dcfc

Heard good things about Shinnie. Must have good leadership skills if he’s their skipper. Must mean Bryson and Johnson could be on their way out. Fingers crossed they are. #dcfc #dcfcfans
