6 reasons for Middlesbrough fans to be optimistic this season

Husband

The transfer window has been very productive for ‘Boro…

The Spanish influx continued this week with the confirmation of speed demon Nsue’s move from Real Mallorca to the ‘Boro. Karanka is sticking with what he knows and the versatility of midfielder Nsue could be vital at the business end of next season. With Kike and Nsue’s transfers, Middlesbrough will not be short of footballing elegance as both have been highly praised for their style of football in Spain.

This is not Karanka’s only impressive piece of business with Husband, a nippy left back from Doncaster, joining for roughly £500k. Husband has already set up one goal (against Hartlepool) and is set to challenge the already steady George Friend at left back for the coming season.

Omeruo has rejoined the Boro after an incredibly successful loan spell last season from Chelsea. If rumours are to be believed Chelsea youngster Patrick Bamford, a striker who scored 25 goals last season with MK Dons and Derby, is set to follow Omeruo and will certainly serve as a reminder to the rest of the Championship that the Boro mean business. It is expected that his teammate George Saville will also join from the Blues on a season long loan.

Karanka’s good links with Jose Mourinho from their Real Madrid days may be the defining factor between success and failure. After all, Jose only knows how to win.
