Hull City, Bristol City and Stoke City keen on Derby County ‘keeper

Derby County are in talks with goalkeeper Kelle Roos over a new contract but will have to face competition for him.

The likes of Hull City, Bristol City and Stoke City are monitoring his situation, as well as clubs in the Dutch Eredivisie, according to a report by Sky Sports.

Roos, who has been used as a back-up throughout his time at Pride Park, has broken into Frank Lampard’s team this season and has played 14 games.

The Dutch ‘keeper joined Derby in 2014 having impressed in the National League with Nuneaton Town. He has since had loan spells away from the Rams at Rotherham United, AFC Wimbledon, Bristol Rovers, Port Vale and Plymouth Argyle.

Roos had spells in Holland with Juliana ’31, Quick 1888, PSV Enidhoven, Willem II and NEC Nijmegen before moving to England to join Nuneaton in 2013.

Hull are looking for a new goalkeeper this summer with their current number one David Marshall’s contract expiring at the end of the season. Could the prospect of guaranteed first-team football attract Roos to East Yorkshire?

Fellow Championship sides Bristol City and Stoke City have also been credited with an interest. The Robins are in the hunt for a promotion to the Premier League at the moment so that could impact on Roos’ chances of a move there.

Stoke are keen to bolster their squad this summer and may be interested in Roos if Jack Butland is leaving them this summer. This is a story to keep an eye on over the next couple of weeks.
