Middlesbrough suffered their fifth defeat in a row yesterday evening against Bristol City, with Boro’s hopes of reaching the Play-Offs taking another dent.
Pressure has been building on Middlesbrough boss Tony Pulis, with many supporters calling for the Welshman to either walk away or to be sacked by Chairman Steve Gibson.
Chants of ‘You’re getting sacked in the morning’ and ‘We want Pulis out’ echoed around the Riverside Stadium at the final whistle last night, as Boro slumped to a 1-0 home defeat to Bristol City; their fifth defeat in a row.
Their home record has been especially poor this season, with the North-East side winning just three of their last 16 games at The Riverside.
When questioned on his future at the club in his post-match press conference, manager Tony Pulis said it is out of his hands.
“I have been in this position before,” said Pulis. “I don’t determine my job, that is up to Steve. I will just keep going.
“I will never criticise supporters. They pay their money, I am the custodian of the club for the time I’m given.
“It’s (his future) nothing to do with me, it’s up to Steve, ask him. I will carry on, keep going, but the important thing is the players keep performing the way they are playing and results will come. I said that four games ago, mind.”
Middlesbrough now play two away games in a row, against Swansea City and Bolton Wanderers. They will be hoping to get their season back on track with back to back wins in a bid to keep their Play-Off dreams alive.
