Sheffield Wednesday winger can’t wait to face his cousin against Norwich City next month

Rolando Aarons has been a hit at Hillsborough since his loan move to Sheffield Wednesday.

The tricky winger joined the Owls on loan until the end of the season in the January transfer window from Premier League side Newcastle United.

Aarons has been a crucial player under Steve Bruce and an integral part of their impressive run of form. Many Wednesday fans are hoping they can sign him up on a permanent basis in the summer.

He is the cousin of highly-rated Norwich City defender Max Aarons, of whom he will face on Good Friday next month.

Rolando has admitted that he can’t wait to face him and has said, as per the Sheffield Star: “I told Max: ‘make sure you have got your shinpads, I am ready to play’,”

“He has been fantastic this year and has been unreal and I am more than happy for him. But I am going to have to show him now as I am much older than him. I have not got it in mind, but when the game comes up, I am going to be texting him and trying to get in his head. We will see what happens.”

“In the Championship, anyone beats anyone and it is a crazy league and a few wins changed everything. You have always got a chance”

Aarons is enjoying his time at Sheffield Wednesday: “It was the same when I started to play for Newcastle. The fans took to mys style of play and it gives me a massive confidence boost and you want to show them what you can do a bit more and it works hand in hand”.
