According to a report from Football Insider, Premier League side and Champions League Quarter-finalists Tottenham Hotspur have made a move for Southend United starlet Charlie Kelman.
Southend United have received an offer for young striker Charlie Kelman from Tottenham Hotspur, according to a report from Football Insider.
It has been reported over the past few months that Spurs were monitoring the striker ahead of a possible move. But now, it has been said that the club have moved in to try and secure his services.
He rose to prominence towards the latter stages of 2018, with his goalscoring exploits catching the attention of clubs higher up the football ladder.
Kelman’s incredible goalscoring form for the Southend youth sides resulted in a call up to the United States Under-18 National Team in the summer, also featuring for Southend’s Under-23s, where he scored a goal on his debut.
The 17-year-old striker is seen as one of the most promising talents English football has to offer, and his stock has risen since his breakthrough into the first team.
His breakthrough into the first team came during the current season, coming off the bench in an EFL Trophy clash with Southampton’s Under-23s. Kelman made his league debut on December 1st and announced his arrival in stunning fashion, scoring from the halfway line in a 3-2 defeat to Plymouth.
Since his debut, Kelman has gone on to play eight times in League One, with his stunning goal against Plymouth the only senior goal of his career so far.
