Middlesbrough have ‘no intention’ of signing on-loan West Ham striker

According to an exclusive report from reliable West Ham fan site Claret and Hugh, Middlesbrough have ‘no intention’ of signing on-loan Hammers forward Jordan Hugill permanently at the end of the season.

Jordan Hugill arrived at West Ham for a huge fee of £10 million under previous boss David Moyes, but he only mustered a measly 22 minutes in the Premier League for the Londoners before joining Middlesbrough on a season-long loan.

He has scored just six goals in 30 Championship appearances, and now Boro manager Tony Pulis has ruled out a move for Hugill at the end of the season.

The 26-year old had lost his place in the side in recent weeks, as Pulis switched to a 5-3-2 formation, deploying Britt Assombalonga and Ashley Fletcher up front, with Hugill being dropped to the subs bench. However, Hugill returned to the starting line up against Aston Villa, as Boro returned to 5-4-1 set up.

According to the report, West Ham are still looking to let the front man leave on a permanent deal in the summer, and are actively looking for interested clubs. However, Middlesbrough will not be one of them.

Although Boro sit in fifth place in the Championship table, they are the lowest scorers within the top 15 teams in the table, even 21st and 22nd placed Reading and Rotherham have scored an equal amount of goals, with their tallies standing at 40.

Pulis would’ve been hoping Hugill could’ve added some well-needed fire power to their ranks, with similar issues arising last season under the Welshman.
