Premier League side leading the race to sign Derby County loanee

According to a report from The Sun, Premier League side Bournemouth are leading the race to sign Derby County loanee Mason Mount on loan this summer.

Derby County loanee Mason Mount is attracting interest from Premier League sides, and Bournemouth are reportedly leading the race for his signature.

After a strong season in the Championship with Derby, parent club Chelsea are keen to send Mount on loan to a Premier League side in the summer transfer window.

The young midfielder has been out of the Derby County side through injury since their 1-0 win over Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup Fourth Round. He has missed nine Championship games since the start of his absence but is expected to return to the side after the international break.

So far this season, Mount has netted six goals and provided three assists in 32 games in all competitions in just his second season of senior football. His form prior to his injury saw him catch the eyes of scouts and England manager Gareth Southgate, earning a call up to the England squad in October 2018.

The 20-year-old spent last season on loan in the Dutch Eredivisie with Vitesse Arnhem – along with fellow Chelsea loanees Matt Miazga and Fankaty Dabo. In 39 games for Vitesse, the playmaker scored an impressive 13 goals from midfield, notching up 10 assists along the way as well.

Now, the youngster is set to test himself in the top flight, with Bournemouth among the Premier League sides eyeing up a move for Mount this summer.
