Jordy de Wijs believes “Play-Offs are still possible” for Hull City

Jordy de Wijs has encouraged his Hull City teammates to keep going despite their 3-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The Dutch defender wants to keep fighting and says there are still a lot of points to play for.

Speaking to the Tigers’ official website after Saturday’s game, the 24-year-old said: “Of course we were disappointed and frustrated immediately after the game. It was a hard one to take. If you look at the first half, I think we controlled the game but only in the middle of the pitch – not in their 18-yard box. We didn’t get any big chances.”

It was a game that could’ve gone either way and unfortunately it went their way and they came away with the points. The first goal was very important, but when that went in our head dropped a little bit. We have to work on that a little bit”

The former PSV centre-back also added: “We can’t be too disappointed though. It is only one game and we still have lots of points to play for. The play-offs are still possible even though we are a little bit further off now. We have to keep going, stay with each other and point the same way and keep going. Yes, it was a missed opportunity but we must bounce back.”

Hull face a tricky test against top of the table Norwich City on Wednesday night and will be looking to close the gap on the top six which currently stands at five points.
