Derby County midfielder offered contract by Kilmarnock

Derby County midfielder Craig Bryson has been offered a contract by Kilmarnock.

The 32-year-old is out of contract at Pride Park at the end of the season and could be set for a return to Rugby Park, according to the Express.

Bryson started his career in Scotland with Clyde and went onto play for their first-team in the Scottish second tier before he was signed by Kilmarnock in 2007. Bryson impressed in his four years in the Scottish Premiership.

He played over 100 times for Killie in his first spell there. Bryson then moved to Pride Park in 2011 and has since played over 250 games for them in the Championship.

He spent last season on loan at Cardiff City and was part of Neil Warnock’s side who were promoted to the Premier League but wasn’t offered a permanent deal by the Bluebirds in the summer.

Bryson may have thought his Derby career was over after his loan away but he has fought his way back into the team under Frank Lampard this season. He has played 27 games in all competitions in this campaign, chipping in with two goals.

It is still up in the air whether the Rams will extend his contract this summer but Bryson will consider a return to Kilmarnock which is where he first made his name. This is a story to keep an eye on over the coming months as other Scottish clubs could also come in.
