Nottingham Forest man “still on radar” of Aston Villa – journalist comments

According to reliable journalist Alan Nixon, Nottingham Forest star Joe Lolley is still on the radar of fellow Championship side Aston Villa.

Aston Villa are reportedly still keen on Nottingham Forest playmaker Joe Lolley, reliable journalist Alan Nixon has said on Sunday afternoon. Nixon posted the news on Twitter (see tweet below), responding to questions from fans:

Lolley has put on some eye-catching performances throughout the Championship season so far this campaign. So far, he has provided seven goals and eight assists in 35 Championship games – with one of his goals and four of those assists coming in Nottingham Forest’s stunning 5-5 draw with Aston Villa last November.

But, the journalist did point out that it depends on whether Villa will still need to bring Lolley in. Early on in February, it was reported that Aston Villa had identified the Nottingham Forest man as a potential replacement for star man Jack Grealish, as fears grew regarding his long-term future at the club.

But, it is unknown whether Grealish will want to leave his boyhood club. His return from injury has buoyed Villa’s form, picking up the armband and netting twice in as many games to help Villa to wins over Derby County and Birmingham City, scoring the winning goal in Sunday’s Second City derby, which was marred by a pitch invader who ran onto the pitch and punched Grealish in the back of the head.

It will certainly be interesting to see how this saga develops. A move for Lolley seemingly rides on the possible departure of Jack Grealish, but given the passion shown from the Villa man, it remains unknown whether or not he will look to leave the club this summer, even if they remain in the Championship.
