Ipswich Town in talks with Hull City striker over permanent switch

Ipswich Town are in talks with Hull City loanee Will Keane over a permanent switch to Portman Road in the summer.

The 26-year-old is out of contract at the KCOM Stadium in the summer and looks likely to join the Tractor Boys, as per a report by the East Anglian Daily Times.

Ipswich, who are rock bottom of the Championship, are also in talks with Brentford over a permanent deal for winger Alan Judge.

Keane has impressed since making the move to Paul Lambert’s side the January transfer window and has since chipped in with three goals.

The striker’s career to date has been affected by injuries but he seems to have found his feet at Portman Road despite them looking like they will be playing in League One next season.

Keane started out at Manchester United and rose through the youth ranks at Old Trafford. He went onto make three appearances for their first-team as well as having loan spells at Wigan Athletic, QPR, Sheffield Wednesday and Preston North End.

He left United on a permanent deal in 2016 to join Hull City for a fee of around £1 million. He played 26 times for the Tigers, scoring just the once as injuries left him side-lined for long spells.

Hull do have an option to extend his contract by a further year in the summer but it appears likely he will be joining Ipswich Town on a permanent basis regardless of what division they will be in.
