Sheffield Wednesday will be looking to halt their bitter rivals’ Sheffield United’s promotion push tonight.
The Owls have won back-to-back games at Hillsborough and are in impressive form under new boss Steve Bruce.
Bruce, who managed the Blades 20 years ago, has had this to say ahead of the game, as per the Owls’ official club website: “The whole of the country will be watching the game on Monday, let’s make it a spectacle. Yes, there is always going to be huge rivalry but just keep it at a huge rivalry.”
“It’s all about one thing – getting a result. Getting the win for your supporters so they go to work in the morning in a better frame of mind. It means a lot to the supporters of course it does. We know what it means”
Bruce has said that form goes out of the window in a derby: ” All that is out of the window, it’s on the night, on the occasion, who handles it best, who handles the situation better and who doesn’t make the mistake,” the manager said. Will it be won by a flash of genius or a mistake? All of those things come into effect. Let’s look forward to it”.
Here is what the Sheffield Wednesday fans have been saying on Twitter ahead of the game-
