Five things we learned from Hull City 2-0 win over Birmingham City

Hull City made it back-to-backs wins yesterday after beating Birmingham City 2-0 at the KCOM Stadium. Here are five things we learned from the game-

Play-Offs still on- The Tigers are now four points off the top six and still in the race. That is some rise considering Nigel Adkins’ side were bottom of the league in October.

Marc Pugh has been a top signing- The AFC Bournemouth loanee has made quite the impact at the KCOM Stadium and had another impressive game. His contract with the Cherries is up in the summer meaning Hull could have the opportunity to snap him up on a permanent deal.

Jordy de Wijs and Reece Burke are so important- The defensive duo have both returned from injury this week and Hull have picked up six points. They play such an important role for Adkins and they need to be kept fit.

Chris Martin is a useful asset- The Derby County loanee has only scored once for the Tigers this season but is a useful option. He played well yesterday and held up the ball well. He also helped link Jarrod Bowen, Pugh and Kamil Grosicki into the game. Martin offers a good physical presence up top.

Big game next week- Hull travel to fellow Play-Off hopefuls Nottingham Forest next Saturday in what is now a huge game. Both sides are level on 50 points and a win would be a real boost for both teams.
