“Get em told lad” – Leeds United owner fires back after newspaper reporter – fans reactions

Under Andrea Radrizzani’s ownership, Leeds United are beginning to show definite signs of progress and are knocking on the door of promotion from the Sky Bet Championship this season.

Of course, that position has been helped by the appointment of Marcelo Bielsa, the highest profile managerial appointment below the Premier League itself. After a disappointing first season in charge of the Whites, where they finished 13th, things are looking up.

From the madness and unpredictability that surround former owner Massimo Cellino and the courtroom circus that followed him, to the relative calmness of Andrea Radrizzani’s reign – it’s all that Leeds United fans wanted.

However, United will always be big news for certain publications looking for an angle, or continuing the tradition of having an axe to grind. That’s always going to be true; it is in the case of the following article from the Daily Mail.

Here, the Mail say that “Andrea Radrizzani will consider selling the club [Leeds]” should they not reach the Premier League this season. Quoting the ubiquitous “sources“, the article’s authors say that Radrizzani is “all in on the gamble of securing top-flight football” and the “estimated £200million windfall” that such a promotion brings.

The article later goes on to claim that the Mail has “been told” that failure to gain promotion this season would see Radrizzani struggling to fund another campaign. They add, quite chillingly, that playing assets might need to be sold.

With all this surfacing, there is usually a restrained silence from those it is directed at, but not in this case. Andrea Radrizzani definitely had something to say on the matter.

Daily Mail say Radrizzani ready to bail – Leeds owner responds

With the above tweets, Andrea Radrizzani has come out firing from the hip in true gunslinger style. His rebuttal, well it certainly doesn’t hold back, nor does it take any prisoners.

It’s the sort of fighting comeback that is needed when such non-stories are aimed at any club. It is a comeback that was bound to catch the attention of Leeds United fans. Here’s how some of them reacted on Twitter.
