David Hopkin has resigned as manager of League One side Bradford City. Here are five potential candidates to replace him-
Martin Drury- He has been placed in caretaker charge of the Bantams for Saturday’s game against Portsmouth. He was the first-team coach under Hopkin and has been at the club since 2016. This week’s game is an opportunity for him to impress.
Paul Hurst- The former Grimsby Town and Shrewsbury Town boss has been available since his sacking by Championship side Ipswich Town in October. He knows League One well and is an option for Bradford.
Steve Evans- Another manager who is free at the moment. The experienced boss was sacked by Peterborough United last month. The 56-year-old has also previously managed Boston United, Crawley Town, Rotherham United, Leeds United and Mansfield Town.
Gary Bowyer- The ex-Blackburn Rovers and Blackpool manager is another option for the Bantams. He guided the Seasiders to promotion to League One in 2017 and kept them up in the last campaign. Could he keep Bradford up this season?
Phil Parkinson- A final name to throw into the running. He is currently in charge of Championship side Bolton Wanderers but could he be tempted by a return to Valley Parade, where he did such a good job previously, amid all the problems going on at the University of Bolton Stadium?
