Five things we learned from Hull City’s 2-2 draw with Rotherham United

Hull City blew a 2-0 lead at home to Rotherham United last night at the KCOM Stadium. Here are five things we learned from the game-

First-half was excellent- The Tigers stormed into a 2-0 lead and Rotherham struggled to deal with them. Kamil Grosicki and Jarrod Bowen were a real threat from the flanks and it seemed it would be a straightforward win for City at half-time.

Second-half collapse- Both of the Millers’ goals were avoidable. David Marshall, who has been brilliant throughout the season, made a mistake for their first and the second came through a deflection off Rob McKenzie, who stuck a lazy leg onto a Jon Taylor shot.

City were complacent- The hosts were naïve and complacent and should have never let Rotherham get back into it. The visitors could have easily ran away with all three points in the end.

Play-Offs out of sight now?- City are now seven points off the top six but have dropped to 12th in the league. The light of the Play-Offs seems to be dimming after one win in four now. The first-half performance showed that Nigel Adkins’ men can turn it on when they want to, but the second-half showed how poor defensively they can be.

Missed Kevin Stewart- The former Liverpool man was left on the bench. He adds more bite into the midfield and would’ve added more quality to City’s side last night.
