Former QPR midfielder set for Östersunds FK move

Ravel Morrison is close to joining Allsvenskan side Östersunds FK.

The 26-year-old midfielder has joined up with the Swedish side for training in Marbella, according to Sky Sports.

Morrison is currently on the books at Italian Serie A side Lazio but is out of contract there at the end of the season. He has spent the first half of this season on loan in Mexico with Atlas.

The midfielder started his career at Manchester United and rose through the youth ranks at Old Trafford. He was tipped for a big future and played three times for their first-team.

However, he moved onto West Ham United in January 2012. Morrison played 24 games for the Hammers but spent the majority of his time with the London side out on loan with spells at Birmingham City, QPR and Cardiff City.

Morrison then made a shock switch to Lazio in 2015 and has been under contract with them ever since.

He now looks set to move to Sweden with Östersunds. They were managed by the current Swansea City boss Graham Potter up until last season.

They are now managed by Englishman Ian Burchnall and have English players such as Jamie Hopcutt, Curtis Edwards, Andrew Mills and Jerell Sellars amongst their ranks.

The Swedish side have recently snapped up midfielder Charlie Colkett from Chelsea in an impressive coup. The likely of Ravel Morrison will be another statement of intent by them.
