Leeds United were quite simply not even at the races on Saturday against Norwich City at Elland Road on Saturday. In many respects, the 3-1 loss actually flattered the Whites.
It could have been much, much worse as they were simply played off the pitch by a Canaries side who’d done their homework and who had their tactics just right.
Yes Leeds had opportunities, and yes there were decisions that went against them, but United cannot use these as excuses. Quite simply, they were second-best on the day and thoughts now turn to this weekend and Middlesbrough at The Riverside.
However, one point that began doing the rounds on social media is a bit of ‘afters’ involving Patrick Bamford and Canaries keeper Tim Krul (tweet-below).
The video quite clearly shows Tim Krul advance towards Leeds United’s Patrick Bamford, push past two teammates, and confront the Leeds United striker. Not only that, he also pushes Bamford before leaning his head towards him and, at the very least, initiating some semblance of an attempt at a headbutt.
It is the sort of incident that is tailor-made for social media and it certainly had fans complaining at the time. That’s certainly the case with this; here’s what some Leeds fans have had to say about the incident.
However, these fans will be left disappointed after Phil Hay revealed the news (below) that they already suspected would be the case.

With no charges being brought against Krul, here’s what some fans have reacted like to the news.

Blimey how quickly that decision has been made (decision hardly a surprise). Meanwhile nearly a month on————-

We knew this at the time as leeds fans seeing Alioski can get head butted on live tv by canos and they said that was ok

The FA are a joke always have been always will be , if that was Leeds there would be a ban !
— Jason Crawford (@1971jase) February 4, 2019
Why thou??? What’s the excuse. He admitted “pushing” Bamford away with is head. He’s did it, admitted it, and still no punishment, why??????
— David Snelling (@snelling82) February 4, 2019
I’m guessing Bamford is going to be charged for getting his head in the way of Krul’s

However, not all Leeds or of this persuasion; there are some who take the opposite view.
So there shouldn’t be. We’re clutching at straws and frankly it’s embarrassing fans are even calling for a ban! Wasn’t even a headbut. Far more important things we should be worrying about!

It was handbags at most. Be fuming if roles had been reversed and our player had been charged for something like that. It’s nothing compared to the aimed headbutt at Alioski in Brentford game. We move on.
