Sheffield Wednesday delved into the transfer window to bring in three new signings yesterday.
The new Owls’ boss Steve Bruce had his press conference at Hillsborough yesterday and wasted no time in putting his own stamp on his newly inherited squad.
Dominic Iorfa
Wednesday snapped up the 23-year-old defender on a permanent deal from Premier League side Wolves. This is a great move for both Iorfa and Bruce’s side as he is young, hungry and has a point to prove. He has played over 100 games in his career with Wolves and loan spells at Shrewsbury Town and Ipswich Town.
Achraf Lazaar
The Moroccan international left-back has joined on loan from Newcastle United. He joined the North-East side in 2016 from Palermo on a five-year deal and was part of their squad who won the Championship title under Rafa Benitez. However, he has fallen down the pecking order and spent last season on loan in Serie A with Benevento.
Rolando Aarons
Bruce has added a bit more creativity to the Owls’ ranks by landing Aarons on loan from Newcastle as well. The 23-year-old spent time on loan in Italy with Hellas Verona last season and spent the first half of this campaign in Czech Republic with FC Slovan Liberec.
Here is how the Sheffield Wednesday fans have reacted on Twitter to their triple signing yesterday-

Can’t help but feel excited for this new era under Steve Bruce. Spoke excellently yesterday and hopefully 3 good additions. Iorfa will be great for us, can’t say I know too much about Aarons & Lazaar but it’s strength in positions we’ve desperately needed!

I got so used to use not doing any transfer window activity that #swfc caught me by surprise yesterday! New gaffer, three new players, now let's have three points!

Finally got a bit of pace in the side and some competition at full back.
Not sure why it's taken us 3 seasons to do it but better late than never I suppose!#swfc— Ben (@kbrb123) February 1, 2019
