Three possible deadline day deals Middlesbrough could still get done

Middlesbrough have made three signings already this transfer window, and manager Tony Pulis is looking for more before the 11pm deadline tonight.

Here are three deals could still happen for Middlesbrough today:

1. Leo Lacroix – Saint-Etienne

The central defender has been attracting both Middlesbrough and Swiss Super League side FC Sion this transfer window, and Boro will be hoping they can get the transfer over the line.

Danny Batth’s departure earlier in the window means Pulis could be looking to recruit in central-defence with Aden Flint, Dani Ayala and Dael Fry currently the only three natural central-halves at his disposal.

2. Isaac Vassell – Birmingham City

Middlesbrough expressed an interest in Birmingham striker duo Isaac Vassell and Lukas Jutkiewicz this window, but with the latter’s asking price too high for the Teessiders, they could turn their attention to Vassell.

Reports of a £2 million asking price could be enough for Boro to take a chance on the forward, who has just returned from a knee ligament injury which has kept him out of action since October 2017.

With Boro the lowest scorers in the top half of the Championship, Pulis could be looking for reinforcements up front to bolster his attack.

3. Kamil Grosicki – Hull City

Although this seems the most unlikely transfer of the three given Hull’s stance on not allowing their key players to leave this window, Middlesbrough do need a winger.

Their lack of width is evidenced by only Stewart Downing being the only fully fit wide man at the club at present.
