Leeds United playmaker signing proof in Leeds – capture imminent

It has been widely reported, from various sources, that Polish youngster Mateusz Bogusz will sign for Leeds United today, subject to passing a medical.

Here’s evidence that the youngster is actually in Leeds, courtesy of the Instagram story from his girlfriend Laura Heisig (below).

First is the obligatory ‘teaser’ video that seems to pre-empt the arrival of the more social media savvy footballers.

This is then followed by a shot of Heisig posing on a street in Leeds City centre alongside a double postbox.

The Poland youth international, who recently moved into the Under-20 set-up, plays for Ruch Chorzow, a side who play in the 2 Liga competition – Poland’s third tier. He’s featured in 19 games this season, scoring five times and providing one assist.

Last season, as a 16-year-old, he was blooded by Ruch Chorzow in the 1 Liga – Poland’s second-tier competition. That season, which ended in relegation, he featured in 13 games.

Bogusz will be signed ostensibly to feature for the age groups at Elland Road. He’s likely to feature for the Under-18s, who are currently topping their league.

However, progression is one thing that seems par for the course, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him fast-tracked to the Under-23s who also top their league.

Leeds United have had to fight off interest from Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion and Ligue1 side Stade Reims, but it looks like they have their man. A formal announcement is expected early this week.
