The Yorkshire Evening Post have also reported that the youngster will undergo a medical at Thorp Arch after an offer from Leeds United was accepted. All that remains to be done is a medical to be passed and for his contract to be finalised before he joins up with the development squad.
The Poland youth international, who recently moved into the Under-20 set-up, plays for Ruch Chorzow, a side who play in the 2 Liga competition – Poland’s third tier. He’s featured in 19 games this season, scoring five times and providing one assist.
Last season, as a 16-year-old, he was blooded by Ruch Chorzow in the 1 Liga – Poland’s second-tier competition. That season, which ended in relegation, he featured in 13 games.
The midfielder has been catching the eyes of European clubs since his breakthrough last season. Italian giants Napoli tried to bring Bogusz in on trial last season, but their approach was rejected by Ruch Chorzow. Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion and French club Stade Reims have also been credited with interest in the 17-year-old. However, it is Leeds United that are on the brink of sealing the signature of young Bogusz.
A deal is expected to be completed in the early stages of the next week, before the transfer window slams shut on Thursday evening.
