“I’m loving watching him play” – Derby County manager delighted by in-form winger

Derby County winger Harry Wilson’s sensational recent form has caught the eye of his manager, Frank Lampard, who is enjoying watching the Welshman.

The 21-year-old who is currently on loan at Derby from Liverpool has been proving exactly why Wales have rewarded him with eight senior caps, with his goal against Reading at Pride Park on Saturday taking his tally for the season up to 12 in all competitions.

As well as scoring the second goal in their 2-1 win over the Royals earlier today, Wilson also netted a free-kick during the FA Cup victory over Southampton on Wednesday.

With a run of four goals and two assists in his last five matches in all competitions, he is certainly one of the most in-form players in the Sky Bet Championship and his recent displays have been exciting his manager, Lampard.

“Harry earlier this season was hitting some spectacular goals when he found his feet”, described Lampard.

“But what he has done that has impressed me in the past two months or six weeks is that he has really upped his game generally and everything about his game. He’s positive, he wants the ball, he is creating and he is scoring. It is not just the fantastic goals that Harry Wilson is, there is actually a player that is really developing fast.

“I’m loving watching him play at the minute, he’s a threat, he works hard, he wants to play every minute of every game and if you don’t shoot, you don’t score, so shoot wherever you want if you are Harry Wilson at the minute because you deserve your own luck sometimes”.

Wilson’s current record of 10 goals for this Championship campaign has already beaten his tally of seven from last season, which he mustered in the space of 14 league games whilst on loan with Hull City.
