“He’s exciting to watch”- Nigel Adkins on Hull City’s new winger target

Hull City are keen on Celtic winger Lewis Morgan, as reported by The72 yesterday.

The Scottish Premiership champions are set to loan out the 22-year-old for more first-team opportunities and the Tigers want to hand him the opportunity of playing in the Championship.

Fellow Scottish side Hibernian are also believed to be interested in Morgan, along with League One outfit Sunderland. The Black Cats’ boss, Jack Ross, managed him at St Mirren.

Hull City have won their previous six games in the league and have catapulted themselves from the bottom three to 10th over the past month or so. They are now looking to build on their form and bring two or three new signings to boost their Play-Off push.

The Tigers’ boss, Nigel Adkins, confirmed his interest in Celtic’s Morgan yesterday in his pre-Aston Villa press conference at Cottingham training ground, as per the Derry Journal: “We’ve had a look at a lot of players in England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Lewis is one. Young lad, dynamic winger, he’s exciting to watch. Will that happen with us, will that happen with another football club?”.

Morgan would certainly add more options to Adkins’ side and give him another dimension going forward. He has played 13 times for Celtic in all competitions this season.

The Glasgow giants snapped him up last January from St Mirren but loaned him back out there. Morgan scored 18 goals altogether in the last campaign to help get the Buddies promoted from the Scottish Championship.
