Hull City interested in loan move for Celtic winger

Hull City are interested in Celtic winger Lewis Morgan, as per BBC Humberside Sport on Twitter.

The 22-year-old could leave the Scottish Premiership champions on loan this month for more first-team opportunities and the Tigers’ boss Nigel Adkins confirmed his interest in him in his press conference today.

Hull are in the hunt for two or three signings this month to bolster their squad. A move for Cardiff City defender Matt Connolly stalled earlier week but is not dead in the water just yet, as reported by The72 yesterday.

Morgan, who is a Scotland international with two caps to his name, has played 13 times for Celtic this season in all competitions.

He started his career with the Hoops’ rivals Rangers before joining St Mirren in September 2013. Morgan went onto play over 100 games for the Buddies.

He played a key part in their promotion from the Scottish Championship last season under the now Sunderland boss Jack Ross. Celtic moved to sign him in January last year on a four-and-a-half year deal but was loaned back out to St Mirren for the rest of the season.

Morgan ended up scoring 18 goals in the last campaign and his pace caused real problems in the Scottish second tier.

He hasn’t played as much as he would have liked for Celtic so far but a loan move would help his development. Hull City would be a good destination for him and he could play a part in their Play-Off push under Nigel Adkins.
