Ireland youth international snubs Leeds and Middlesbrough to join Premier League side

As previously reported on The72, Bohemians and Republic of Ireland under-19 striker Ali Reghba has been attracting attention from both the Championship and the Premier League.

The 19-year old striker impressed Middlesbrough manager Tony Pulis on an extended trial on Teesside this season, and the Boro boss was interested in signing Reghba on a permanent deal. But the striker didn’t want to commit his future before exploring his options.

Leeds United and Wolves were also interested in taking on the forward on trial, but according to The Hartlepool Mail, he has now decided to join Premier League side Leicester City, and will join their youth team this transfer window.

Reghba has been a trialist at the King Power in recent weeks, and has turned out impressive performances in his short spell at the club for the under-23 side.

The teenager’s transfer won’t demand a large fee, and it is believed Leicester and Bohemians will have to agree a compensation figure for the deal to go through before the January 31st deadline.

The Ireland under-19 international managed two assists in his three outings for the national side, and has scored three goals in five games in the colours of Bohemians at both youth level and in the first team.

Middlesbrough and Leeds are both looking to add to their ranks this transfer window, with Boro having signed Rajiv van La Parra on loan from Huddersfield, and Marcelo Bielsa’s side snapping up Real Madrid goalkeeper Kiko Casilla for an undisclosed fee this week.
