Norwich manager Daniel Farke has cast doubt as to weather Ben Marshall will leave Carrow Road in this transfer window.
The Canaries singed Marshall from Wolves in the summer transfer window on a four year deal. However, he has not featured for the Norfolk outfit in the league since August. This has raised suspicion that the 27-year old may depart Carrow Road in search for regular football.
Marshall was left out of the match day squad on Saturday and spotted at The Den for Millwall’s clash with Blackburn.
The former Wolves midfielder has played for both sides. He spent four years at Ewood Park making 126 appearances and scoring 11 goals. He joined Millwall on loan last January and made 16 appearances scoring three goals as Millwall almost secured a place in the Championship play-offs. It is not known if Blackburn are after his services but Millwall are interested in bringing him back.
However, Norwich boss Daniel Farke spoke to Paddy Davitt and had this to say when asked if Marshall’s absence could mean him leaving. “No Ben has a permanent contract here and he is someone I can rely on.”
It’s an interesting quote from the Norwich boss. The fact that Marshall has not featured since August in the league would suggest that a loan move is on the cards. This theory is supported by a picture on social media showing Marshall at The Den.
He could be there simply just supporting one or both of his former teams. However, with it being January and him not featuring for Norwich would suggest he is there finalising a deal. We know Millwall still want him and that he enjoyed his time at The Den last season.
